Emergency Sleepover with art manoeuvres
Clonakilty Community Arts Centre. Sat 17th June 7.30pm
FREE EVENT for Clonakilty Organic Arts Festival
The future is no longer what it was, let’s untangle what it is together.
Are you concerned with global issues of climate change, refugee crisis, political instability and or local issues of housing, food production and sustainability? Do you believe that creativity and art institutions can provide solutions ?
On the 17th of June art manoeuvres will bring these urgent matters to the fore with a night of public engagement which will ask and possibly answer many questions.
What would happen if you were enclosed in a room, at the centre of a building, while the world outside began to fall apart? What kind of delusions about the world would reveal themselves? What would you dream about that night? What dilemmas would you face?
The evening will provide a number of explorations including: talks, inquiry, conversations, feedback loops, sound installation, projections, and will culminate with a sleepover in the Clonakilty Community Arts Centre. This event will bring together different groups and individuals to engage with these matters of urgency, and how they are experienced by those living in West Cork.
The overnight event begins at 7:30pm and people are welcome to drop in anytime until 11pm. For anyone intending to stay overnight, numbers are limited and registration essential. Please contact : firstname.lastname@example.org / 083 1249311
